Rajasthan Labour Department exempts from working hours to shops and establishments

The Rajasthan Labour Department on May 09, 2020, gives certain exemptions to employers of establishments registered under Shops and Commercial Establishment Act for 3 years.

 Employers will give one paid holiday in a week to an employee turn by turn.

 The working hours of an employees will be 9 hours per day and 48 hours for a week. Employers will pay wages for overtime if employees are working more than 9 hours.

 The payment of overtime wages will be done as per the provisions of the Shops and Commercial Establishment Act.

 Employment letter will be given to all employees by employer and also to the area inspector with acknowledgment and receipt of the letter, also it will be saved in records too.

 These exemptions will be applicable to only shops and commercial establishments 

 These exemptions will be subject to certain conditions issued by the Central Government. If any person violates the conditions, the exemptions will be deemed to be withdrawn and they will be punished as per the provisions of the adequate laws.
