Government of Karnataka gives certain reliefs to the MSME or Non-MSME industrial sectors and to the other categories of consumers

Industry Specific Compliance

The State Government of Karnataka on 08, 2020, gives certain relief to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) or Non-MSME industrial consumers sectors and to the other categories of consumers for mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Relief or incentives to the electricity consumers for the months of April, May and June 2020:

1. Waiver of demand and fixed charges for the months of April and May 2020 can be avail by the MSME industries who hold valid certificate and are liable to pay demand and fixed charges.

2. The Demand or fixed charges shall be deferred for industries not mentioned above.

3. Various relief or incentives given to all category of consumers for the months of April, May and June 2020 upto June 30, 2020.

(i) Consumers who promptly pay the bills raised by Electricity Supply Companies (ESCOMs) shall be entitles to an incentive or rebate subject to the ceiling limit of Rs. 1 lakh for High Tension (HT) installations and Rs. 10,000 got Low tension (LT) installations

(ii) Relief from interest for belated payments

(iii) A consumer, who pays bills in advance for the period of 12 months, shall be entitled to incentive at the rate of 0.50% per month for the time for which advance payment is made.

(iv) ESCOMs will provide installments or part payment of bills.

(v) There shall be no disconnection of electricity supply by the ESCOMs for non-payment of dues for the months of April and May 2020 till June 30, 2020
