Ministry of Textiles issues guidelines for Quality Control of PPE Body Coveralls

The Ministry of Textiles issues notification on April 6, 2020 stating the instructions which must be complied with by the manufacturer or supplier of Personal Protection Equipment Body Coveralls, to ensure the quality and safety standards of the PPE Body Coveralls as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for protection from COVID-19. The instructions are as follows:

a) The manufacturer will manufacture the PPE Body Coveralls with materials which are approved by South India Textile Research Association, Coimbatore and Defence Research & Development Establishment, Gwalior fulfilling all the needed requirements. Any change without such approval is not permitted.

b) The PPE Body Coverall must have a tamper-proof sticker with the prescribed particular sprinted on it.

c) To keep a check on the quality of the material used for the of PPE Body Coveralls, random collection of samples may be done by M/s HLL Lifecare Ltd.  and the same will be sent to SITRA and DRDE periodically for checking.

This order will come into force with immediate effect.
