Government of Ladakh revises the SOP for the movement of the trucks outside of UT Ladakh carrying all the essentials

The Government of Union Territory of Ladakh on May, 2020 has revised the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the movement of tankers and trucks outside the UT Ladakh, carrying all the essentials.

There shall be a check post for the driver and the person travelling in the truck. The screening shall be done of the driver and the helper. In a truck only two people are allowed pertaining to a driver and a helper. At various destinations, the medical screening shall take place of the driver and the helper.

All the trucks carrying fruits and vegetables shall be offloaded at Khri Sultan Cho Stadium Bemathang distribution depot. After that, the trucks shall not stop anywhere in between while on the road to Kargil.

The labour force will be escorting these trucks. The Leh trucks shall be double escorted and will only move to designated convoy camps. These camps will have all the basic facilities for the drivers and the helpers. The drivers and the helpers shall not be allowed to meet the locals. Strict measures shall be taken by the local police authorities.
