Bihar Mines and Geology Department prescribes conditions for working at stone quarry and storage sites

The Mines and Geology Department on April 20, 2020 issues the order to control the spread of COVID-19,  which directs the licensees for sand storage and stone quarries to fulfil the conditions in order to carry out operations to ensure the minor mineral availability for construction and development work of the government. The permission to carry out operations shall be granted only if-

(i) social distancing is practiced at the mining/ storage site.

(ii) the licensee ensures the food facility for the labourers.

(iii) the licensee ensures the health facilities and provides masks, sanitizer etc.

(iv) the licensee facilitates the regular inspection by the mine inspector and follows the directions issued for the same.

(v) the licensee has to strictly abide by the directions issued by the central government to carry out operations in order to supply minor minerals for the construction and development work of the government.

This order will come into force with immediate effect.
