The Madhya Pradesh Labour Department on May 06, 2020, promulgates the Madhya Pradesh Labour Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020, to further amend the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1961 and the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982.

 Under the Madhya Pradesh lndustrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1961, in section 2(1)(a), for the words "more than fifty", the words "more than hundred" has been substituted:

every undertaking wherein the number of employees on any day during the twelve months preceding or on the day this Act comes into force or on any day thereafter was or is more than hundred.

 Under the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982, under section 28, sub-section 3 has been added which specifies that the State Government may, by notification exempt any establishment or class of establishments from all or any of the provisions of this Act subject to certain conditions, as may be specified in the notification.

However, during the period of operation of this Ordinance, the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Madhya Pradesh Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1961 and the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982 shall have effect subject to the amendments. 

It will come into force from the date of its publication in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette.
