TRAI releases network testing before the commercial launch of services for wireline access services

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on April 22, 2020 has released its recommendations on “Network testing before the commercial launch of services for Wireline access services”. 

The followings are the salient features of recommendations:-

 TSP should be allowed to enrol test users in testing phase to carry out the network testing before commercial launch of its wireline access services.

 There should be no restriction on time limit.

 The number of test users should be limited to 5% of its installed network capacity for that LSA.

 There should be a limit of 90 days on test phase involving test users.

 All licensing provisions related to the security and privacy must be complied by the licensee.

 TSP should give the information to the test users about the charge free transaction.
