Ministry of Finance freezes dearness allowance to Kerala Government employees

The Ministry of Finance on April 23, 2020 has decided to freeze dearness allowance to Central Government employees and dearness relief to Central Government pensioners at current rates till July 2021 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

The following decisions are made:-

 The additional instalment of dearness allowance payable to Central Government employees and dearness relief to Central Government pensioners due from January 01, 2020 shall not be paid.

 The additional instalment of dearness allowance and dearness relief due from July 01, 2020 and January 01, 2021 shall not be paid. 

 The current rates of dearness allowance and dearness relief shall be paid.

 The rates of dearness allowance and dearness relief as effective from January 01, 2020; July 01, 2020 and January 01, 2021 will be restored prospectively and will be subsumed in cumulative revised rate effective from July 01, 2021.

 No arrears shall be paid for the period from January 01, 2020 till June 30, 2021.
