Madhya Pradesh Labour Department relaxes factories from the provisions of working hours of adult workers during lockdown

The Madhya Pradesh Labour Department on April 24, 2020, exempts all the factories registered under the Factories Act, 1948 from various provisions relating to weekly hours, daily hours, intervals for rest etc., of adult workers under (iii) and (iv) of section 65(3)(a) of the Factories Act, 1948 for 3 months from the date of publication of this Notification in Madhya Pradesh Gazette with the following conditions:

(1 )No adult workers will be allowed or required to work in a factory for more than twelve (12) hours in any day and seventy two (72) hours in any week.

(2) The periods of work of adult workers in a factory each day will be fixed that no period exceed six hours and that no workers will work for more than six hours before he has had an interval for rest of at least 30 minutes.

(3) Over time wages will be paid as provided under section 59 of the Factories Act, 1948.
