FSSAI issues direction regarding import of speciality food for IEM and hypoallergenic conditions

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on April 20, 2020, issues direction regarding import of speciality food for IEM and hypoallergenic conditions. FSSAI had allowed the import of food for Inborn errors of Metabolism (IEM) and hypoallergic conditions for a period of six months from May 02, 2020 to January 11, 2020 vide its direction dated May 02, 2019.

Now, it has been directed that the import of such products shall continue to be permitted through Delhi and Mumbai ports only.
