FSSAI requests employees to contribute to the PM CARES Fund

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on April 25, 2020, has requested all the employees whether regular or on deputation or on contract to contribute on PM CARES Fund voluntarily in light of prevailing situation due to COVID-19 pandemic. These deductions will be made from the salary of April 2020 and onwards. The contribution of the month of March has already been deposited in the Fund. The payment of the consolidated amount of contribution to the PM CARES Fund shall be made centrally by FSSAI Headquarters.

The employees should in writing or through email/SMS to intimate their willingness to contribute voluntarily along with amount of contribution on or before April 28, 2020. The DDOs shall deduct the amount as per the willingness given by the employee from their salary of April 2020. For the months of May onwards, the willingness may be communicated by 27th of the month. This contribution would qualify for 80G benefits for 100% exemption under the Income Tax Act.

The employees may intimate about their quantum of voluntary contribution by email/SMS to Accounts Division at email id. [email protected], 9811539057 to Accounts Division latest by April 28, 2020.
