MoFPI requests promoter to submit source of water supply in the premises and NOC from CGWA

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) on April 20,2020, has requested the promoters to submit the source of water supply in the premises and No objection certificate (NOC). MoFPI had issued scheme guidelines for integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure with an objective to provide integrated cold chain and preservation infrastructure facilities to consumer without any fail and also stipulates submission of license before release of third and final installment of grant in aid under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. In reference to that, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had revised the guidelines for obtaining NOC from Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) for grant or renewal or product modification of FSSAI License vide letter dated January 02, 2018. Accordingly, in case the applicant industries extracting ground water, located in over exploited areas seeking license, FSSAI will consider subject to acceptance of their applications for NOC by CGWA.

Therefore, the project promoters are requested to submit the following at the time of release of first or second installment of grant in aid:

 In case of food unit is extracting ground water, the NOC from CGWA is required to submit; or

 In case of the food units is not extracting ground water, the source of water supply is required to inform along with requisite approvals from Competent Authority.
