Ministry of Home Affairs informs that shops and establishments will be open with 50% strength of workers

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on April 24, 2020, amends the consolidated revised guidelines regarding lockdown restrictions and exemptions, for allowing shops and establishments to be open with 50% workers.

 Modifications: 

Under clause 1 (x) which specifies the activities which will remain prohibited until May 03, 2020, the term ‘shopping complexes’ is replaced with ‘market complexes within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities.

 Inclusions:

Under clause 14 which specifies the commercial and private establishments that will be operative during lockdown period, sub-clause (xiii) and (xiv) has been inserted:

i. Sub-clause (xiii): All shops registered under the Shops and Establishments Act of the respective State / Union Territory (UT), including shops in residential complexes and market complexes, except shops in multi-brand an single brand malls, outside the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities with 50% strength of workers with wearing of masks and social distancing being mandatory.

ii. Sub-clause (xiv): All shops, including neighborhood shops and standalone shops, shops in residential complexes, within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities, registered under the Shops and Establishment Act of the respective State / UT, except shops in market complexes and multi-brand and single brand malls, with 50% strength of workers with wearing of masks and social distancing being mandatory.
