The Goa Labour and Employment Department on March 28, 2020, issues advisory regarding engaging any migrant workers who have come to the State of Goa after March 10, 2020 and been engaged by the employers for different types of jobs.

However, due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic the State Government of Goa suggested that all the employers in private or public sector should restrain from inviting any fresh new migrant labourers in the State. Further, if they have employed such labourers who have arrived in the State after March 10, 2020, then they should be advised to quarantine themselves compulsorily.  If anyone displaying the symptoms of COVID-19, then he or she should be directly referred to Government Hospitals for further action.

The Goa Labour Department also requested to employers not to curtail the salaries or wages of such labourers for the period of quarantine.
