Government of Rajasthan exempts the provisions of working hours of adult workers for the period of three months

The Rajasthan Factories and Boilers Inspection Department on April 11, 2020, exempt the provisions of working hours of adult workers of the Factories Act, 1948, for the period of three months from the date of this order upto the extent or conditions mentioned below:

1.       For achieving the both the objective i.e., restore full supply of essential goods and ensure a minimal presence of people in manufacturing and distribution facilities, it is allowed to exempt all essential goods manufacturing and distribution factories from the criteria of “8 hours of working per day” for next 3 months and to allow “maximum 12 hours of working per day”. Further, the additional 4 hours a day will be paid as overtime subject to an overtime limit of 24 hours per week.

2.       Secondly it would also limit the movement of people from work to home and back during the day be half.

3.       The above increase in working hours will enable operations to full capacity of most essential goods factories with around 60%-65% of normal manpower.

4.       All directions regarding sanitisaton and social distancing will be strictly adhered to.
