Government of Telangana exempts the boilers from the provisions of Boilers Act, 1923

The Telangana Labour Department on April 08, 2020, exempts the Boilers whose certificate already expired in March, 2020 and whose certificate will be expired in April and May, 2020 from the provisions of Section 6 (c) and Section 8 of the Boilers Act, 1923 upto May 31, 2020 under the following conditions:

(i)                  During exemption period Boiler shall be operated in accordance to the provision of the Boilers Act, Boiler Attendant Rules and Boiler Operation Engineers Rules.

(ii)                No repairs shall be carried out to the Boiler during this exemption period without taking the permission from the Director of Boilers, Telangana, Hyderabad.

(iii)               No owner of a Boiler is restricted from applying for Renewal of Boiler Certificate during this exemption.

Whereas, under Boilers Act, 1923:

Ø  Section 6, specifies the prohibition of use of unregistered or uncertified boiler

Ø  Section 8 specifies the procedure for renewal of certificate.
