The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on April 05, 2020, has revised the instructions to facilitate Provident Fund members to rectify their Birth records in EPFO records, thus ensuring that their Universal Account Number (UAN) is Know Your Customer (KYC) compliant.

Therefore, as per revised instructions, date of birth recorded in 'Aadhaar' will now be accepted as valid proof of date of birth for the purpose of rectification, provided that the difference in the two dates is less than 3 years. The PF subscribers can submit the correction requests online. This will enable EPFO to validate the date of birth of members online with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) instantaneously.

EPFO revises the instructions due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
