Government of Bihar revises minimum rates of wages for Piece Rated Work

The Bihar Labour Department on March 23, 2020, has revised the minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowances (VDA) for Piece Rated Work which will be effective from April 01, 2020.

The following categories of employees for whom minimum rates of wages revised:

1. Stone breaking and stone crushing operations

2. Bidi Making Manufacture

3. Brick Manufactory

4. Hair Cutting Saloon

5. Loading and Unloading Operation

6. Forestry and Timbering Operation

7. Silk Industry including manufacturer from pure silk, artificial silk and other staple yara

8. Earth Cutting Operation

9. Tea Plantation

10. Lac Manufactory

11. Power loom Industry

12. Plucking and Processing – Kendu leaves

These rates of piece rates VDA will be based on the average of All India Consumer Price Index on which the minimum rates of wages have been fixed or revised in the above scheduled Employments.
