Kerala Tax Department publishes the Kerala Foreign Liquor (Compounding, Blending and Bottling) (Amendment) Rules, 2020

The Kerala Tax Department on March 20, 2020 publishes the Kerala Foreign Liquor (Compounding, Blending and Bottling) (Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend the Kerala Foreign Liquor (Compounding, Blending and Bottling) Rules, 1975.

 Under Rule 4 which specifies the procedure for obtaining license, the annual fee for compounding and blending license, bottling licence has been enhanced by Rs. 4,00,000/- instead of Rs. 2,00,000/-

 Under Rule 8 which specifies that licensee shall take out a licence in form 4 for the possession of spirits on which duty has not been paid, fee for license for the possession of spirit has been enhanced by Rs. 2,00,000/- instead of Rs. 1,00,000/-.

 Rule 10B has been inserted to introduce an annual fee of Rs. 2,00,000/- for approving each tie-up arrangements with any of the Compounding, Blending and Bottling Unit in Kerala by the manufactures of outside State who engage in such tie-up with distilleries/compounding and blending units situated in the State for manufacturing their brands in Kerala:

Outside State Manufactures (Distilleries and Compounding, Blending and Bottling Units) engaged in bottling tie-up with Compounding, Blending and Bottling Units in the State.

They will come into force on April 01, 2020.
