MNRE announces that power generation and transmission units shall remain open during lockdown

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on March 26, 2020, announces continuity of Renewable Energy Generating Stations (REGS) which includes solar power plants, wind power plants, hybrid solar-wind power plants, small hydroelectric power plants, Biomass or Biogas power plants, etc. and gives permission for material movement needed during the nation-wide lockdown for COVID-19 outbreak. The Power Generation is an essential service for securing smooth and uninterrupted power flow across and within states. Thus, considering the requirement of Batteries, Energy Storage Systems, Electrical Equipment, Maintenance equipment, Tractors, Trucks and other required Tools and Plants for miniatous activities during the current situation, it is requested that power generation and transmission units shall remain open to provide uninterrupted operations of REGC.
