Tamil Nadu amends the Tamil Nadu Payment of Subsistence Allowance Rules, 1981

The Government of Tamil Nadu on March 18, 2020, has published the Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Payment of Subsistence Allowance Rules, 1981.

The amendments are as under:

Under Rule 3(iii) which specifies the conditions for payment of subsistence allowance, proviso has been added:

The employer shall maintain a register in respect of employees placed under suspension in Form 1. The signature of the employee shall be obtained for each payment of subsistence allowance. If subsistence is sent by postal money order, the postal receipt shall be affixed in the register:

Provided that no separate register in Form I need be maintained if the particulars required to be maintained therein are contained in any other records maintained by the employer under any other labour Law.
