The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on March 16, 2020, defers the implementation of Circular – 10/2020-Customs dated February 07, 2020 till April 30, 2020.

The Circular specifies the detailed procedure for electronic sealing – deposit in and removal of goods from Customs Bonded Warehouses. Whereas CBIC decided that alongwith export of containerized cargo the Radio - Frequency Identification (RFID) sealing (one-time lock for transport of goods to be deposited in a warehouse or removed therefrom) will be extended to transport of goods for deposit in a warehouse as well as removal therefrom.

The procedure given in the Circular was to come into force from March 15, 2020. But, CBIC received representations from e-seal vendors to defer the implementation of Circular. Therefore, the new date of implementation of the Circular will be May 01, 2020.
