BIS notifies Indian Standards of Sterile Single-Use Syringes

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on February 14, 2020, has established the Indian Standards of “Sterile single-use syringes, with or without needle, for insulin (Second Revision)” of “IS 12227 : 2020/ISO 8537 : 2016”, which shall come into effect from February 11, 2020 under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018.

BIS has also notified that the Indian Standards of “IS 12227 : 2002/ISO 8537 : 1991 Sterile Single-Use Syringes, With or Without Needle, for Insulin (First Revision)” shall remain in force concurrently and will get cancelled on August 10, 2020.
