The vide amendment substitutes the Regulation 3(4) of the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (Settlement of Disputes by Electricity Ombudsman) Regulations, 2010, which specifies the procedure for appointment of electricity Ombudsman, namely:

The mode of appointment of Electricity Ombudsman shall be through a search committee to be constituted by the Commission or by advertisement. The appointment of ombudsman shall be initially for a period of two years which may be further extended upto one year subject to age upto extended period not exceeding 65 years. For appointment of Ombudsman minimum and maximum age limit would be 59 and 62 years on the date of advertisement

The amendment is done in order to streamline the term and age for ombudsman in line with the term and age of Secretary.
