CBIC decides to introduce 24×7 clearance at all the Customs formations

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on February 20, 2020 has decided to introduce 24×7 clearance at all the Customs formations.

This facility is provided to handle emergent situations occur in China due to Coronavirus outbreak and to address any congestion or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions or cessation thereof. These instructions would remain in operation till end of May 2020.

CBIC also informs that Central Revenue Control Laboratory (CRCL) labs would also function 24×7 so that test results could be made available at the earliest.

Further CBIC requested the Chief Commissioners to workout the arrangement and deployment of sufficient number of officers on 24×7 basis at sea ports or Air Cargo Stations or ICDs or CFSs etc falling in their jurisdiction.
