Government of Kerala proposes to revise the minimum rates of wages for Private Educational Institutions

The State Government of Kerala on January 09, 2020, has revised the minimum rates of wages for the employees employed in the Private Educational Institutions.

Ø  In addition to the basic pay to the employees, Dearness Allowance will be paid on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Ø  The employees will be eligible for service weightage for each five years of service with an increment subject to a maximum of 3 increments who have completed a total service of 5 years under an employer.

Ø  Wherever an employees who are actually in receipt of higher wages than the Minimum wages fixed above, and the benefits thereof such higher wages and benefits shall be continued.

The proposal will be taken into consideration on or after two months from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette (January 09, 2020) and all such objections and suggestions will be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Labour and Skills (E) Department, Government Secretariat, Thiruvananthapuram – 659001.
