The Ministry of Civil Aviation on February 04, 2020, issues the draft Aircraft (Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend the Aircraft Rules, 1937.

The amendments are made in Schedule XI of the Aircraft Rules, 1937, where an explanation has been inserted after paragraph 1, stating ‘Indian nationals’ include a citizen of India who is residing outside India but shall not include an ‘Overseas Citizen of India Cardholder’ or a ‘Persons of Indian Origin Cardholder’ deemed as ‘Overseas Citizen of India Cardholders’.

Any person likely to be affected thereby by the draft, are requested for objections or suggestions, if any, within 30 days from the date on which the copies of this notification published in the Gazette of India, are made available to the public. The objections and suggestions to these draft rules, if any, may be sent to the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Opposite Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi-110003 or mailed to [email protected].

These draft Rules shall come into force on the date of its final publication in the Official Gazette.
