DGFT allows export of Krishnapuram onions upto a quantity of 10,000 MT

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on February 06, 2020, has allowed export of Krishnapuram onions (Serial Number 52 of Chapter 7 of Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) classification of export and import items), upto a quantity of 10,000 MT subject to the following conditions for the period upto March 31, 2020 with immediate effect.

The conditions are s under:

(i) The export shipment of Krishnapuram onions will be allowed only through Chennai port till March 31, 2020.

(ii) An exporter shall have to get a certificate certifying the quantity of Krishnapuram onion for export purpose. This certificate will be registered by the exporter at the Office of Zonal Additional DGFT.

(iii) The office of Zonal Additional DGFT, Chennai will issue registration certificate after monitoring the total quantity allowed for export of Krishnapuram onion.

(iv) The customs Authorities at the Chennai port will allow export of Krishnapuram Onion on the basis of Certificate from Assistant Director, Horticulture Kadapa, Government of Andhra Pradesh and registration certificate from Office of Additional DGFT, Chennai submitted by the exporter.
