The State Government of Kerala on January 22, 2020, proposes to revise the minimum rates of wages for the classes of employees employed in Private Temple Sector.

In case of temples where no daily pooja is performed, the employees shall be eligible for proportionate wages for the days in which work was done by dividing monthly basic wages by 26 and in case where pooja is conducted only once in a day and without “vechu nivedyam”, employees are eligible for an amount equivalent to fifty percentage of basic wages. Employees shall be eligible for Dearness Allowance.

The proposal will be taken up for consideration on or after two months from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette and that the objections and suggestions, if any, that may be received from any persons with respect to the said proposals on or before the specified above, will be considered by the Government.  All objections and suggestions shall be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Labour and Skills (E) Department, Government Secretariat, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001.
