The State Government of Tripura on January 17, 2020 has published the Draft Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Eighth Amendment) Rules, 2018 to further amend the Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2001.

The amendment substitutes Rule 254(3) which specifies the constitution of the Board of the Tripura Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2001:

The term of office of Chairman and the members of the Board other than the official members shall be two years from the date of their appointment:  Provided that the members may continue in office till their successors are appointed.

Provided further that in no case the members shall continue in office beyond a period of four years from the date of appointment.

The Draft Rules is published for information of all persons likely to be affected and the proposed amendment will be taken into consideration after the expiry of 30 days from this Notification in the official Gazette (January 19, 2020).
