Draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2020

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF) on January 08, 2020, issues the draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2020 to further amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986.

The amendments are made under Schedule-1, a new serial number 115 related to ‘Hot Mix Plant-Particulate Matter Concentration mg/Nm3 in stack emission’ has been inserted. It is further stated that the use of furnace oil and rubber process oil shall be avoided. The dust emission from material handling shall be contained with water sprinkling or covering of the points of dust emission and the internal roads, working platform, loading and unloading areas in premises should be paved and kept clean all times. Any process rejects or left over of the hot mix should be recycled in the process and the site shall be reinstated at the end of operation phase i.e. after dismantling the plant.

Any person interested in making any suggestions or objections on the proposals contained in the draft notification may forward the same in writing within 60 days. The objections or suggestions may be sent to the Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jor Bagh Road, New Delhi-110003, or send it to Member Secretary, CPCB and Scientist ‘E’ Ministry at the e-mail address [email protected] and [email protected].
