Government of Maharashtra declares a public holiday on January 09, 2020 on account of General Election or Bye-Election

The State Government of Maharashtra on January 03, 2020, has declared a public holiday on Thursday, dated January 09, 2020 on account of General Election/Bye-Election to various local Government bodies within their respective jurisdiction.

Ø  Districts for Municipal Corporation Bye-Election, namely:

                   i.            Nashik (Nashik, Malegaon)  

                  ii.            Nagpur (Nagpur)

                 iii.            Latur (Latur)

                 iv.            Raigad (Panvel)

                  v.            Mumbai City (Brihanmumbai)

Ø  Districts for Nagarparishad or Nagarpanchayati General or Bye-Election, namely:

                   i.            Ratnagiri (Lanja)

                  ii.            Pune (Talegaon-Dabhade)

                 iii.            Jalgaon (Bhusaval)

                 iv.            Buldhana (Nandura)

                  v.            Nagpur (Kanhan-Pimpri; Kalmeshwar-Brahmani)

                vi.            Chandrapur (Gadchandur)

The voters of the above listed Municipal Corporation, Nagarparishad and Nagarpanchayat Wards who work outside the applicable jurisdiction, will also be entitled to avail this Public holiday. This holiday is also being notified as a public holiday as per section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act,1881.

This public holiday also will be available to Voters working in Government of India offices, Central Government undertakings and Banks located in above listed Municipal Corporation, Nagarparishad and Nagarpanchayat Election Wards within respective jurisdictions.
