RBI extends the relaxation period to NBFCs on securitization transactions

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on December 31, 2019, extends the relaxation period on the guidelines to Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) on securitisation transactions from December 31, 2019 till June 30, 2020. RBI had decided to relax the minimum holding period (MHP) requirement for originating NBFCs in order to encourage NBFCs to securitise or assign their eligible assets, where the dispensation shall be applicable to securitization or assignment transactions carried out during a period of six months. Now RBI has decided to extend the relaxation provided therein till June 30, 2020.
