The State Government of Punjab on December 16, 2019, has published the Draft Punjab Factory (Haryana Second Amendment) Rules, 2019, to further amend the Punjab Factory Rules, 1952.

 Under Rule 42, Clauses (c) and (d) will be inserted, namely:

i. Clause (c): Sanitary Napkins of adequate quantity conforming to Indian Standards shall be provided and maintained in the women’s toilets for their use and the same shall be replenished on daily basis.

ii. Clause (d): Disposable bins with lids shall be provided within the women’s toilets for the collection of the used napkins. The used napkins shall be disposed off in such manner, as may be approved by the State Government.

 Rule 66(G) will be inserted, namely: Personal Protective Equipments

The  Draft of the Rules will be taken into  consideration by the State Government of Punjab on or after the expiry of the period of forty-five days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette (December 24, 2019), together with objections or suggestions, if any, which may be received by the Labour Commissioner-cum- Chief Inspector of Factories, Haryana, 30 Bays Building, Sector-17, Chandigarh, from any person in respect of the draft of rules before the expiry of the period so specified.
