The Ministry of Law and Justice on  , has published the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Act, 2019 which amends the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Act, 2019 has abolished the “no-detention” policy in schools which automatically promotes the child to next class every year until Class VII. It has provided the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluations (CCE) for every child which grants an additional opportunity to take a re-examination within two months.
