MoLE declares services engaged in defence establishments to be a public utility service

The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on December 18, 2019, has declared the services engaged in the industry of defence establishments, which is covered under Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, to be a public utility service.

MoLE has lastly declared the said industry to be a public utility service for a period of six months from June 22, 2018, vide Notification No. S.O. 1959 (E), dated June 13, 2018.

Therefore, MoLE extends the public utility service status to the said industry for a further period of six months which will be effective from December 22, 2019, for public interest.
