Government of Tamil Nadu fixes the minimum rates of wages for the employment in Chemical Industry

The State Government of Tamil Nadu on November 20, 2019 has fixed the minimum rates of wages for the employment in Chemical Industry under the Minimum Wages Act.

Employment in Chemical Industry are as under:

(1) Technical Staff: Technical Manager (Chemical/Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/ Instrumentation); Engineer (Chemical/Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/ Instrumentation); Supervisor (Chemical/Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/ Instrumentation);

(2) Safety Officer

(3) Administrative Staff: Administrative Manager; Administrative Assistant; Office Assistant/Helper; Driver

(4) Workers Category: Mechanical Technician; Electrical Technician; Instrumentation Technician; De-Mineralised water Plant Operator; PDC Operator; Forklift Operator; Boiler Operator; IBR Welder; Welder; Fitter; Rigger; Chemical Operator; House Keeper.

In addition to the minimum rate of basic wages, the employees will be paid dearness allowance.

Where the nature of work is the same, no distinction in the payment of wages shall be made between men and women employee. 

This Notification will come into force on and from December 11, 2019.
