MHRD releases the steps taken by Government to ensure quality education for children of weaker section and disadvantaged group in the country

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on December 02, 2019, has released the steps to be taken by Government to ensure quality education for children of weaker section and disadvantaged group in the country. 

An integrated scheme called “Samagra Shiksha” for the purpose of quality education has been launched which provides a plenary programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class XII and aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education at all levels of school education. Certain provisions have been made which provide preference to Special Focus Districts (SFDs), Educationally Backward Blocks (EEBs), LWE affected districts, and aspirational districts while planning interventions like setting up or upgradation of schools upto senior secondary level. It also strengthens the existing infrastructure, upgradation and running of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), residential schools and hostels, etc. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme brings out the best of rural talent and provides them quality education.
