The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on November 28, 2019, has published the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Third Amendment) Order, 2019 to further amend the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs Order, 2016.

The amendments are made in Clause 3(2)(iv) related to “Removal of licensing requirements, stock limits and movement restrictions on certain foodstuffs” under the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs Order, 2016 stating that the provisions in respect of the purchase, movement, sale, supply, distribution or storage for sale of commodities, shall not apply to onions till further orders.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
