The Industrial Disputes (Bihar Amendment) Act, 2018

The State Government of Bihar on November 21, 2019, notifies that the Industrial Disputes (Bihar Amendment) Act, 2018 is hereby published for the information of the general public to further amend the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947. This amended Act specifies the definition of ‘workman’ means any person employed in any industry to do any manual, unskilled, skilled, technical, operational, clerical or supervisory work or for the promotion of sales for hire or reward, whether the terms of employment be express or implied, and for the purposes of any proceeding under this Act in relation to an industrial dispute, includes any such person who has been dismissed, discharged or retrenched in connection with, or as a consequence of, that dispute, or whose dismissal, discharge or retrenchment has led to that dispute.

This Act shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.
