CDSCO invites public comments on implementations of products for temporary hairs and artificial nail systems

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on November 04, 2019, invites public comments on the steps taken to regulate the products like adhesives for fixing wings on scalp or hair, products which are used for cleaning scalp and artificial nail systems as cosmetics. CDSCO had received applications for grant of No Objection Certificate and concluded that all the products are covered under the definition of Cosmetics as per Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

It has been decided that the products like adhesives which are used for fixing wings on scalp or hair and the products which are to be used for cleansing scalp will be considered under the category named “Products for temporary Hairs” as specified in Column 3 of the Guidelines for import of cosmetics. With regard to artificial, it has been decided to incorporate a new category named “Artificial Nail Systems” in Column 3 of the Guidelines for import of cosmetics in order to follow the requirements of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) IS 4707 (Part 1 and 2):2017.

All the stakeholders are requested to submit their comments or suggestions, if any, within thirty days from the date of this Notification on the email-id [email protected].
