Foreign Exchange Management (Mode of Payment and Reporting of Non-Debt Instruments) Regulations, 2019

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on October 17, 2019, notifies the Foreign Exchange Management (Mode of Payment and Reporting of Non-Debt Instruments) Regulations, 2019 relating to mode of payment and reporting requirements for investment in India by a person resident outside India.

These Regulations specifies the mode of payment and remittance of sale proceeds while purchase or sale of equity instruments of an Indian company by a person resident outside India; investments by Foreign Portfolio Investors; investments by Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) on repatriation basis; investment by NRI or OCI on non-repatriation basis; investment by other non-resident investors; investment in a Limited Liability Partnership; investment by a Foreign Venture Capital Investor; investment by a person resident outside India in an Investment Vehicle; issue of Indian Depository Receipts.
