NISE notifies for the mandatory testing of Concentrated Solar Thermal products

The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued a letter to all industry stakeholders, state nodal agencies and domestic manufactures of Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) products for the mandatory testing of all CST Products like technologies for community cooking, process heat, and space heating and cooling applications in industrial, institutional and commercial establishments.

The MNRE has appointed Savitribai Phule Pune University and NISE as a setup for testing CST technology which offers various facilities like: 

•Test facility for testing of hot water/steam-based CST systems

•Test facility for testing of thermal oil-based CST systems

•Mobile test facility for on-site performance evaluation of CST systems

•Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) component test facility

The newly developed CST system should be tested for once in three years or whenever any modification or improvisation is made.

Thus, the institute desires that all concerned manufacturers, stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and developers should to get their products tested and certified through NISE or through Savitribai Phule Pune University on or before December 31, 2019.
