UGC issues Notice regarding Learning Outcomes based Curriculum Framework

The University Grants Commission (UGC) on October 17, 2019, issues Public Notice on Learning Outcomes based Curriculum Framework (LOCF) with an aim to equip the students with knowledge, skill, values and attitude. UGC had passed a resolution to adopt and implement LOCF in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), by updating curriculum for the academic year 2019-2020; adopt learner Centric teaching learning processes by suitable improvement in the pedagogy. UGC had constituted an Expert Committees to facilitate the task of revision of curriculum in various subjects. These committees have developed the LOCF reports in different subjects after consultations at national level. In order to implement the outcome-oriented curriculum to achieve the expected learning outcomes, the final LOCF reports of nine subjects i.e. English, Library Science, Criminology, Mathematics, Psychology, Botany, Physics, Anthropology and Human Rights are made available on UGC website (www.ugc.ac.in). UGC had received comments and based on that a wider consultation with the experts of the field, expert Committees have prepared the final LOCF curriculum.

Thus, UGC has been decided to solicit views and suggestions from stakeholders including teachers, students, researchers on the draft subject by October 31, 2019. The draft subject for Microbiology, Geography and Geology are available on UGC website. The suggestions and comments, if any, may be sent on [email protected].
