Draft Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (Power Quality) Regulations, 2019

The Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (TERC) has issued a Draft TERC (Power Quality) Regulations, 2019. These regulations will extend to the whole of the Tripura.

The Objective of these Regulations is as under:

The objective of standards specified in these Regulations is to ensure the quality and reliability of electricity supplied by the distribution licensee to the end consumers and by the designated customers. Any failure by the Distribution Licensee or Designated Customer to achieve and maintain the power quality parameters specified in these Regulations shall render the Distribution Licensee or Designated Customer liable to payment of Compensation under the Electricity Act, 2003 to an affected entity claiming such compensation.

These Regulations will apply to Distribution Licensee(s) including Deemed Distribution Licensee(s), Distribution Franchisees and all Designated Customer(s) of electricity connected at or below 33KV voltage level. These Regulations specifies the main characteristics of power quality of electricity supply at point of common coupling (PCC) or at supply terminal of customers in Distribution system.

The suggestion/ objection/ comment etc. are invited on the above said Draft within October 19, 2019

These Regulations shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
