The Central Chief Labour Commissioner on September 23, 2019 has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for the employees employed in the loading and unloading in (i) goods sheds, parcel offices of railways, (ii) other goods-sheds, godowns, warehouses and other similar employments; (iii) docks and ports; and (iv) passengers goods and cargo carried out at airports (both international and domestic) w.e.f. October 01, 2019.

The minimum rates of wages and Variable Dearness Allowance payable to the workers is allotted area wise as the cities are classified into Area A, B and C.
