The State Government of Tamil Nadu has revised the minimum rate of wages for the employment in Paper and other incidental processes connected with the machine made paper Industry under the provisions of Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

The Schedule: Employment in Paper and other incidental processes connected with the machine made paper Industry

1.UNSKILLED:

Driver, Press Boy, All Kind Of Mazdoors

2.SEMI-SKILLED:

Colourman, Machine Attender, Refiner, Wire Boy, Stitching And Packing, Fitter Helpers And Other Helpers, Pulper.

3.SKILLED:

Boiler Operator, Water Treatment Plant Operator, Calendar Operator, Paper Machine Operator, Pulp Making Operator, Cutting Machine Operator, Other Equivalent Operators, Electrician, Welder, Fitter, Carpenter, Smith, Finisher, Turner.

4.HIGHLY SKILLED:

Supervior

5.MISCELLANEOUS:

Accountant, Typist/Clerk/Driver, Hand Watchman.

In addition to the minimum rates of basic wages, the employees will be paid dearness                  allowance.

Where the same work or work of a similar nature is performed, no distinction in the                     payment of wages shall be made as between men and women employees.

Daily wages shall be multiplied by 26. 

Wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed herein, the same            shall be continued to be paid.

The Notification shall come into force with effect on and from the date of its publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
