DGFT will not grant any extension for import of Pulses for the fiscal year 2019-2020

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on September 11, 2019, has clarified that no relaxation will be granted for import of pulses beyond October 31, 2019.

DGFT vide Trade Notice No. 24/2019-20 dated July 05, 2019 had invited application for additional import quota of Pigeon Peas/ Toor Da for the fiscal year 2019-20 and therein it was mentioned that the successful applicants will have to ensure that the import consignments of Toor Dal reaches the Indian Port on or before October 31, 2019 and request for extension of time will not be entertained.

However, DGFT receiving several representations for extension of date of import of pulses beyond October 31, 2019. The matter has been examined by DGFT and decided that no relaxation can be given and eligible quantity/ quota issued to the millers should arrive / land on Indian Port latest by October 31, 2019.

Accordingly, DGFT request all importers to complete their import by October 31, 2019 and submit a final report of imports made by them till November 07, 2019.
