The Draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2019

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on September 09, 2019, has published the draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2019 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. These Rules shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

The amendments are made in Rule 138(4)(d) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 related to “Signals and additional safety measures for motor vehicle” specifies that on and after expiry of one year from the date of commencement of the Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 1999, the driver of every vehicle shall ensure that the first-aid kit containing a tube of antiseptic cream containing 0.5% of Centrimide B.P. in a non-greasy base, a tube of Feracrylum of 1% gel, sterilised dressings, sterlised elastic plaster, waterproof plaster, gauze and elastic bandage for wounds and burns are carried in the vehicle.

Any person likely to be affected thereby by the draft, are requested for objections or suggestions, if any, within thirty days from the date on which the copies of this notification as published in the Gazette of India, are made available to the public.
