DPIIT notifies the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertaking (Amendment) Rules, 2019

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on September 04, 2019, has notified the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertaking (Amendment) Rules, 2019.              

The following amendments in the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertakings Rules, 1952 are as under:

Ø  The words "Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)” or "Ministry of Industrial Development wherever they exist in Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertakings Rules, 1952 shall be substituted with the words" Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade ".

Ø  In Rule 10 which specifies the provisions regarding Application to be referred to Committee, sub-rule (2) shall be substituted, namely:

The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint one or more committees, consisting of such number of members as it may think fit to represent the Ministries or Departments of the Central Government dealing with:

a)       Industrial Policy and Promotion,

b)      The Industry specified in the First Schedule to the Act,

c)       Home Affairs,

d)      Commerce;

e)      Corporate Affairs:

Provided that the Central Government may, if it deems fit, include in such committee any other member to represent any other Ministry or Department.”

Ø  Under Rule 15(1) and (2) which specifies the procedure for Grant of License or Permission for the figure and words "3 months" and for the words "three months", the word "five months" shall be substituted.
